Week in the Wild is a great way for your child to have a safe, fun, hands-on learning experience in the natural environment. Our program is open to rising 1st through 6th graders. Nature study, arts and crafts, hikes, and games are just some of the activities we have planned for these not so lazy summer mornings.

As always, Kalmia Gardens welcomes all children, regardless of race, gender, or physical limitations. We expect responsible care of our facilities and surroundings since they are for the use and enjoyment of the whole community. You agree that your child’s photo may be taken and used in programs or advertisements. We strongly discourage unsupervised collection of plants and other natural materials.

Arrival & Departure Plan to arrive each day before 9:00 am (meet at the Joslin Education Center). Please pick your child up promptly at 12:00 p.m. No lunch is provided but there will be a mid-morning snack. Insect repellent is suggested, as are sunscreen and lace-up shoes (no flip-flops or sandals).

Week In The Wild summer nature camp will be offered at Kalmia Gardens of Coker College beginning in July. The program is open to rising first through sixth graders and will include nature study, arts and crafts, hikes, and games. Dates for the camps are July 10-14, rising first and second graders; July 17-21, rising third and fourth graders; and July 24-28, rising fifth through sixth graders. We will meet daily from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Joslin Education Center, and the cost is $125(non-refundable). For more information call (843) 383-8145 or email dhill@coker.edu.
