Here at Kalmia Gardens, there are numerous volunteer opportunities that allow community members an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while making a meaningful impact. Whether it’s tending to the garden, or educating guests of all ages, volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience and promoting environmental awareness. Being a volunteer at Kalmia Gardens not only fosters a connection with the natural world, but also provides a unique opportunity to learn from horticultural professionals and fellow nature enthusiasts. To become a part our volunteer team, please complete the Volunteer Application below, or by downloading and completing it HERE.
Please note, most volunteer opportunities are available on weekdays only, either in the mornings or early afternoon. Exceptions to this primarily exist with Special Events Support and occasionally within the Greenhouse.
After you have submitted your application, you will be contacted by a member of our staff to discuss your application and to complete and return a Volunteer Liability Release form. All Kalmia Gardens’ volunteers must complete a Volunteer Orientation session (typically held seasonally), and complete a Volunteer Mentorship session before they can begin in a volunteer role.
*Note: Completion of a Volunteer Orientation session and Volunteer Mentorship session only apply to Kalmia Gardens’ volunteers. Greenhouse-only volunteers are exempt from these sessions.
